From my first few prenatal visits, I could tell that I had found a phenomenal team to support me in my first birth, No matter how busy the waiting room or if I was the last patient of the day, when my midwives entered the room to meet with me, I felt I had their full calm, presence. I was amazed at their genuine interest in knowing how I was doing not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally and in all areas of my life: caring for not only my baby but also my and my husband's whole selves.
When Beckett's Birth Day arrived and I showed up at the Center at 2am I was greeted by my midwives in a beautiful candle lit room. What a quiet, calm, inviting place--such a wonderful space to have the transformative experience of birth! At first I was surprised at how much the midwives had me take the lead in my labor, but the more I realized how much they trusted my body to do what it needed to do, the more I trusted myself. I can't imagine a better way to meet my son for the first time.
Thank you for such nurturing care, I feel so lucky to have had the PSBC Midwives as a part of my family's journey!
