Amanda Engholm MSM, LM, CPM

I was born in Pasadena, CA and raised in Granite Falls, WA. There I worked as a certified nursing assistant at various facilities in hospitals and nursing homes.  It was this type of work where I discovered my passion for helping others. I joined the Air Force in 2007 to be of service and during my time I was stationed at JBLMcChord AFB where I obtained 2 Associates Degrees.
I became captivated by pregnancy and birth after having my first child in 2014. I immediately felt called and decided to pursue birth work.  I attended training to become a doula and childbirth educator in 2015, was accepted into Bastyr University’s midwifery program in 2016 and graduated with a Master’s of Science in Midwifery and Botanical Medicine in 2019.
I have attended over 650 births and more than 10,000 clinical visits. Each one as beautiful as the first. The last 6 years I have spent providing midwifery care at Cascade Birth Center in Everett, Puget Sound Birth Center in Kirkland, Special Delivery in Arlington and I feel fortunate to be back at Puget Sound Birth Center! In my free time, I enjoy being with my son, being outdoors, and building my Faith. I also enjoy finding snow in the winter months at various places throughout Washington.  My love for the outdoors includes paddle boarding, hiking, camping, swimming, and exploring new areas.
I take every opportunity to listen to and educate clients, co-workers and friends on everything involving pregnancy and childbirth!  My passion for midwifery grows stronger each day as I create bonds with the families I serve. I am excited to continue meeting amazing families and build connections.
