Kayla Watkins, LM CPM

I was born and raised in Upstate New York as the oldest of 7 children, and have been living and working in Washington since the fall of 2020. I am engaged to the love of my life, Luke, and we are getting married in February 2026. Midwifery & healthcare have been a passion of mine since I was about 14 years old, and I am deeply grateful to be pursuing this calling. At 18, I moved to Tabuk, Philippines, where I volunteered for 18 months at a maternity center serving a rural, tribal community. During this time, I attended Newlife International School of Midwifery while simultaneously completing my midwifery degree through National College of Midwifery in the United States. Living and working in the Philippines profoundly shaped both my personal and professional growth, and it was truly a dream come true. Midwifery is a vocation that I approach with deep reverence, humility, and gratitude. My approach to midwifery is rooted in informed consent, individualized support, and trust in the innate strength and God-given wisdom of women. I also have a deep commitment to holistic, family-centered care and physiological birth, as well as a deep respect for the natural processes of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I value education, presence, and advocacy, and I strive to create a space where families feel heard, supported, empowered, and confident in their choices. I believe birth is a powerful, transformative experience, and it is my honor to walk alongside women and families with compassion and humility as they prepare to welcome new life. I have attended more than 700 births. When I’m not working, you can find me getting bubble tea, going for walks at the marina (often keeping an eye out for seals), and crafting with my friends. I love to travel, read (often medical books or practice protocols), bake, do puzzles, and spend time with the people I love. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
